Episode 266: The Theory of The Interview is Unbroken

I just now noticed that the past 3 episodes have begun with the word "The." Fun little tidbit, probably a lack of creativity on my part. No matter. I start the review off with The Interview, followed by Unbroken, and finishing off the section is The Theory of Everything. After all of that is the Box Office Report(s) and a relatively short news section to round out the show. Enjoy!

Episode 265: The Battle of the Five Armies

It's the defining chapter! I still think that title would belong with The Two Towers but that is up for debate. It is in fact our final journey to Middle-Earth, at least for right now. So I start things off with my review of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies followed by the Box Office Report and the news. But make sure to stay after as I review The Grand Budapest Hotel. Which might I add is a fantastic piece of film. And lastly for the closing comments I talk a little bit about Star Driver. Enjoy the show!

Episode 264: The Trailer Awakens

I may or may not be using different variations of "The Force Awakens" until I feel like I beat that saying to death. Why? Gives me an excuse to not have to combine titles or come up with a witty title. Nonetheless I start things off with my review of Horrible Bosses 2. Following that up is the Trailer Spot with Star Wars: The Force Awakens (thus the title), Jurassic World, and Terminator Genysis. After that is the Box Office Report and the news! And for the Closing Comments I briefly talk about Game of Thrones: Iron from Ice. Enjoy the show!

Episode 263: I'll Be Your Mockingjay

Well I start things off with my review of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, following that is the Box Office Report and lastly the news. Enjoy the show! Sorry for not bs'ing for the beginning it's just a little late so I'm feel a tad lazy, and that's saying something since all I am doing is sitting in front of a computer.

Minisode 45: Bloody Fate/Zero-Battle of Gods

For this spectacular round of anime filled goodness I bring three reviews! I start things off with a delayed review of Dragonball Z: Battle of Gods. That one was surprisingly hard to review in retrospect. Next is Bayonetta: Bloody Fate, in a nutshell this is a condensed anime version of the first game. But if you are interested in the second game but don't want to play the first this movie is a great alternative. And lastly is my review of Fate/Zero, the prequel to Fate/Stay Night. If you are wondering at all about my thoughts on Fate/Stay Night I will refer you to Minisode 31. Nonetheless you can walk into Fate/Zero without any knowledge and still really enjoy this one. It's a great show, I highly recommend all of you see this one before it gets pulled from Netflix. Enjoy the show!

Minisode 44: Psycho-Pass 2

For those that can't see the subtitle a big aspect of season 2 for Psycho-Pass is what color is your hue/psycho-pass? As I briefly mentioned in Minisode 43 the color scheme was never clearly defined in season 1 and after watching the first 6 episodes of this season it's honestly still a bit murky. Despite that being a focal point it's not to my detriment that I don't understand that as a viewer. Walking in there are spoilers for each and every episode as I go into far more detail than usual. So please watch the first season and perhaps even part of the second before deciding to listen. Otherwise if you don't really care just sit back and enjoy the show!

Episode 262: Intersteller Hero 6

This is another one of those days where I can't think of anything "witty" to start off the description, so anyways I start things off with my review of Interstellar followed by Big Hero 6. I should mention minor spoilers follow for both reviews, that way most people won't get mad. After that is the Box Office Report and the Trailer Spot featuring Chappie! Don't forget to keep an eye out for the news and make sure to stay tuned for the Closing Comments. Enjoy the show!

Episode 261: Aimless

So yeah this one is a little late, but on the plus side the next episode is also that much closer. And I do mean closer. I don't believe that this episode bears skipping but I understand that what I bring probably isn't big news. As such I start things off with my review of The Judge. Following that is the Box Office Report and the news. And for my Irrelevant Review I watched This is 40. Don't miss out on the Closing Comments either as I talk about the free documentary about Halo 2. Enjoy the show!

Episode 259: Gone Girl

You may notice that I chose The Equalizer Poster over Gone Girl, that was not made in error. The Gone Girl poster didn't entice me and I thought that I could advertise both movies that I review this week in one fell swoop. So I start things off with the review of Gone Girl followed by the Box Office Report. The news week was surprisingly short, and after that I follow that up with my review of The Equalizer. Enjoy the show!

Episode 258: YA

I have returned from yet another short sabbatical to bring you a better-late-than-never review of The Maze Runner, followed by the Box Office Report. The Trailer Spot this week is Taken 3 (aka Tak3n) and the news is incredibly long this week just due to the fact that I was behind a week to begin with plus taking a week off didn't do me any favors. But after the news I review Divergent, a movie I probably should have reviewed when it came out. Enjoy the show!

Opening and Closing Song- Burn by Ellie Goulding (She was featured heavily in the Divergent soundtrack, but I will admit this song was not among them.)

Episode 257: A Walk Among the Sea of Monsters

I'm lazy and it's late so I'll fill the rest of this sometime soon :) Still too lazy to really type much haha. I start things off with a review of A Walk Among the Tombstones, I'm sure I did the Box Office Report, the Trailer Spot for this episode was John Wick, also don't forget the news! And lastly I review Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. Enjoy the show!

Episode 256: Shadow Recruit

I feel like sometimes the fates don't want the current show that I had recorded to come out. While I won't bore you with details this took far longer than it should have, but it's done and ready for your listening pleasure. So the start off the show I review Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, a surprisingly decent spy movie. After that is the Box Office Report, and the Trailer Spot this week is The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1...kind of a long title huh? Perhaps had they stuck with just Mockingjay they would not have had this problem. And to finish off the show I play a little catch up with the news; as for the Closing Comments I talk briefly on my thoughts of the new video game Destiny. Enjoy the show!

Episode 255: The Sins of Summer

My my are you all in for one heck of an episode this week. I'm sorry it took a little longer than I wanted to release but work was priorty one this week so this had to take the backseat for a couple extra days, until now! This week Chris comes back and I start things off with a review of Sin City followed up by Chris with his review of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Did we like thems, you'll just have to tune in to find out. After that is the Box Office Report, for one of the worst weekends in box office history. And to highlight this episode is what I like to call our centerpiece of the show where Chris and I talk about this summer in the box office; it's ups and downs what movies were good what movies were bad, etc. We cover a variety of topics and still only scratched the surface but nonetheless was still a very fun experience. Lastly is the Closing Comments as Chris talks about things like Buffy or Doctor Who just to name a couple things. And I talk about comic books and week 1 of football. Enjoy the show!

Episode 254: The November Man

If any of you can see the subtitle the reason I have it as such is because I kind of wondered why the main character of this weeks' movie is called "The November Man." And when you find out you could go through many emotions but joy isn't going to be one of them with that revelation. Also I meant to say this in the review as well but Devereaux is the complete opposite of James Bond. He is a very blunt and sometimes mean/scary kind of spy. Anyways aside from that review I talk the Labor Day Box Office Report and the news. Enjoy the show!

Episode 253: The Expendables 3

After a short delay I have returned, hopefully a bit more consistently! For this episode I start things off with my review of The Expendables 3 (minor spoilers btw). After that I play a little catch up with the Box Office Report and then comes the news! But don't leave just yet I brought along an irrelevant review, perhaps you have heard of this one; it's called The Big Green. Enjoy the show!

Episode 252: Ninja Turtles

Hello everybody and welcome back for another episode! This week I brought along all of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies, don't fret though I've learned my lesson on reviews from Episode 250 so after I review the brand new version of TMNT I just basically give my scores on the previous movies plus the animated feature film. After that is the Box Office Report and the news. Lastly if you want to hear my take on Guardians of the Galaxy in IMAX definitely stick around for the closing comments. Enjoy the show!

Episode 251: Guardians of the Galaxy

Sorry for the delay, but on the plus side it's a shorter episode this round. If it wasn't one thing it was another that kept on deterring me from completing this on time. As such I start things off with my review of Guardians of the Galaxy, followed by the Box Office Report. The Trailer Spot this week is the newest trailer of Interstellar. The news was admittedly lame this week, I mean there is like one juicy bit but otherwise it was weak sauce. And to finish things off, surprisingly, is my review of The Purge: Anarchy. What also might be surprising is what score I decided to give it. Enjoy the show!

Episode 250: Fully Executed

I really do believe that this may very well be the longest solo show I have done on the podcast. But when you really consider the typical length of the usual episodes this is really just doubled. Anyways the majority of the show is reviews so I start things off with Hercules followed by The Legend of Hercules. After that is my review of Lucy and finally Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1984). Then I play a little bit of catchup with the Box Office Report and the news! Enjoy the show!

Opening and Closing Song- Jungle by Jamie N Commons and X Ambassadors

As I mentioned at the end of the show here are the markers for when each respective review begins in the episode.

Episode 249: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

You'd think for 3 different movies there would be one song that I could pick from, I'm not a fan of picking a song that plays on pop stations 24/7 but this week I had no choice. While I'm not against what I ended up picking I prefer something that can be heard by anyone. Anyways for this episode I bring along Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, 22 Jump Street, and R.I.P.D. Then I did the last weeks Box Office Report, as well as the news. And interspersed with the news is the Trailer Spot with the teaser of Horrible Bosses 2! Enjoy the show!

Episode 248: Age of Extinction

I want there to be a witty opening to the description but frankly I got nothing. So anyways I start things off with my review of Transformers: Age of Extinction followed by a little unknown movie called Snowpiercer. (Which did open in theaters this week.) Following that is the Box Office Report and then the Trailer Spot this week is the new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. After that is a ton of news that I have missed out on since I took last week off. And to finish things off is my irrelevant review of Redline (2009), well enjoy the show!

Minisode 43.5: The Hunting Party

In retrospect I thought that this particular minisode would be all over the place, it turned out to be pretty straight line. I start things off with an anime review featuring Guilty Crown. It's a decent show but with character flaws and an odd divide between the "seasons" it avoids being a great series. Following that is a track-by-track analysis of Linkin Park's new album "The Hunting Party." As I mentioned in the review itself I'm a big fan of Linkin Park so perhaps my view is a little skewed and then I delve a little further into my random thoughts concerning their previous works. Enjoy the show!

Episode 247: (About Time) You Trained Your Dragon

Well one more time travel story to be told, and perhaps we will let that rest for a bit, not that I'm speaking poorly about said time travel story for this round but we have had a lot recently. Anyways I start things off with How to Train Your Dragon 2, followed by the Box Office Report. The Trailer Spot this week is The Equalizer, I've been waiting to see what this looked like for a while and I was not disappointed. And lastly there is the news. Enjoy the show!

After that I talk the box office and the surprising outing for The Fault in Our Stars. Right after that is the Trailer Spot with Hercules! It's the version with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, actually looks like a decent popcorn flick. And lastly we have the news and my Irrelevant Review. Enjoy the show!

Episode 244: Days of Future Past

Have you ever wondered what you could do by altering the past? Would you do something personal or something big that would affect many lives? I'd probably do something personal unless I knew I had to change the past so that the world could survive in better times. Anyways for this episode Chris has gracefully come back as he takes charge of the review of X-Men: Days of Future Past. But that's not all we also review X-Men, X2: X-Men United, and X-Men 3: The Last Stand. Oh you think that's it? I've also given Chris the option to re-do his review of X-Men Origins: Wolverine and also give his score for The Wolverine. Following that is the Box Office Report and what little news we could find. And to finish off the show we have the Closing Comments. Enjoy the show!

After listening to my review of the newest incarnation of Godzilla I should mention that I may delve into some minor spoiler territory. Nothing to severe but for those that are interested that still haven't seen it yet may want to get that out of the way first then listen to my take on it. Anyways so after my review of Godzilla I review a different kind of monster movie with Hotel Transylvania. After that is the Box Office Report, the Trailer Spot for this week is Interstellar, and don't forget the news. Enjoy the show!

Episode 242: The (Neighbors) are in a Bit of a (Rush)

So yeah the opening/closing song is the explicit version for anyone that wants to know, maybe I should've thought that one through before hand. As such I guess this is a forewarning that there is some "language" for my song choice this week otherwise it's pretty clean cut afterwards. I start things off with my review of Neighbors and following it up with the Box Office Report and the news. To finish off the show this week is my belated review for Rush. Two quite unrelated films but on two different ends of the spectrum. Enjoy the show!

Episode 241: The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Sorry for the slight delay, after I started editing I realized I forgot to review The Wolf of Wall Street at the end. My computer is slowly dying out on me so it may be time to invest in a new one but in the mean time with this one some technological hiccups are bound to happen. Nonetheless I start the show off with my take on The Amazing Spider-Man 2, as the episode title would suggest. After that I take on the Box Office Report and the news. And to wrap things up is my quick(er) review of The Wolf of Wall Street. Enjoy the show!

Minisode 43: Psycho-Pass

As with the Sword Art Online minisode this is a very in depth review of the Production I.G. show, Psycho-Pass. As I mention at the beginning of the show if you have seen the movie Minority Report, you are on the right track. But if you are wanting an anime equivilent I would say Ghost in the Shell is probably a close relative. Nonetheless I don't know what else to exactly say about the show so if you are interested at all be aware that I mention the first 8 episodes at length so please enter at your own discretion. Otherwise for those mentioned or just someone wanting to listen to new stuff I just hope you enjoy the show!

Two weeks back and I frankly can't remember most of what I did on the show. Clearly I reviewed Transcendence, which had a good idea but just couldn't quite execute it right. I start things off with my review of Draft Day starring Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner. Afterwards I follow things up with the Box Office Report and the news. And to finish off the reviews for the show I brought along Lee Daniels' The Butler and Wolf Children. For anyone that has never listened to the convention reports need not fear. I know the word "anime" scares Chris but I urge those that may be interested to keep on reading. This episode, if you want to call it that, is just a retrospective on what I did during my time at Anime Detour 2014. The standard procedure is I start with Friday, then Saturday, and Sunday. After all of that I cover things like Artist Alley and the Dealers Room. It's merely a hodge podge but a fun one at that and I hope you all enjoy it! (BTW the subtitle was the theme for this convention and means nothing on what I thought about that convention as a whole.)

This episode is a little short because I am missing a second review but on the plus side I review Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And for the rest of the show is the typical stuff like the Box Office Report and the news. As for my Closing Comments I give people a brief low down on Anime Detour 2014 as well as when to expect the con report and the upcoming minisde. Enjoy the show!

At times while I was editing this I wondered if I have used this title before, and I want to say I haven't. If I have perhaps I will officially change it, but until then it stays! So this round is kind of short as I talk news, the Box Office Report, and the Trailer Spot this week is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Perhaps you are wondering what movie or movies I am reviewing this week? Well I did bring one along and that is Captain Phillips, I've been wanting to see all of the nominees and I really regret not seeing this sooner. Lastly for the Closing Comments I talk about the HIMYM series finale. I don't go into detail and try to be as vague as possible but for those that are just saying," Lalalala!" it's near the end but I really don't think anything I say will ruin. But I feel like I should mention something just in case. Well that's the show in a nutshell so enjoy!

So this was an episode I so should've done ages at least a couple weeks ago. Nonetheless as I say," Better late than never." So for this week I review 12 Years a Slave and Read or Die (OVA). Does 12 Years hold it up to its Best Picture status? You'll have to listen to find out. As for Read or Die that requires a little research on your end but nonethless if you happen upon it you should definitely give it a watch. Afterwards I talk about the Box Office Report and the news. Lastly I talk briefly on my thoughts regarding Sword Art Online as well as Guilty Crown. Enjoy the show!

I suppose I could have used one of the taglines but we just couldn't figure anything that worked. And as a special surprise is that Chris has come back for another episode to talk about one of his favorite movies. So as such Chris takes charge with the review for 300, and I follow up with the review for 300: Rise of an Empire. And as a callback from episodes past Chris did the Box Office Report. The news is surprisingly bad this week but on the plus side Chris and I talk about the Fantastic Four reboot casting. I could not have asked for a better combination of titles if I tried, and the song that I picked for this show worked wonderfully as well. So yeah I'm actually pretty proud of this one, to start things off I moved the Irrelevant Review to the backend of the show for this week. So the beginning of the show is normal with the review of Pompeii. Following that is the Box Office Report, and the Trailer Spot this week is Guardians of the Galaxy. Nonetheless I start things off with my review of Robocop (2014), does it hold up? You'll have to listen to the show to find out! After that is my review of an unknown movie called Ironclad. Would you enroll in Lego University? I guess for me it would depend on if they actually kept the fun in going otherwise it would probably be all technical and not fun. By the way who here builds Legos based on the instructions and who just creates whatever they want? I'm an instructions kind of guy, because I am far from creative. So anyways for this show I review The Lego Movie and Monsters University (I procrastinated that last one a little bit.) After that is the Box Office Report and the news! I'd feel a little bad if a parent was listening and bam the trailer starts spouting some foul language so yeah I hope that I'm just over-reacting rather than getting yelled at via the internet. So on to the show. I review I, Frankenstein and following that Porco Rosso. One good movie, one bad movie time to figure out which it is! Afterwards I bring up the past couple weeks worth of Box Office Reports followed by the aforementioned Trailer Spot which features A Million Ways to Die in the West. And last but not least the news, so please enjoy the show!

Surprise it's not a show about anime for once! And also Chris has come back from his hiatus to help out! If you can't tell I'm excited for a multitude of reasons. One being that considering the size of this show there will be two more corresponding Minisodes coming eventually covering the other seasons. Another reason is that it was just plain fun to be able to discuss the many many random things about Game of Thrones. Some not even affiliated with Season 1. We derail from the topic way too easy which I think makes for a more unique show. I know the length may be a bit tough to swallow but just enjoy it at your own pace and don't forget to enjoy the show! And lastly there is going to be many many ***SPOILERS*** so don't say we didn't warn ya.

Episode 229: Zodiac Hustle

Well I want to be brief you all can chalk it up to laziness. So for this week I review two movies that pretty much take place in some capacity in the 70's. The first movie I tackled was American Hustle and following that is Zodiac (2007), both are good movies but I believe the latter is superior. Granted comparing them is like comparing apples to oranges. After that is the Box Office Report and then the news! Lastly unlike so many other episodes I give you all my Most Anticipated Movies of 2014 list. It's very similar to the one I did last year in terms of structure. Well enjoy the show!

Sorry about the semi-somber song I picked for this one. I really like to use upbeat songs but not for this round. As such I review Dallas Buyers Club and also a super quick review of Grandma's Boy. Also there's the Box Office Report and the news. Enjoy the show!

I'm going to be brief on this one. It's a short show this week due in part to two seperate things. 1. I only bothered seeing one movie and 2. There was hardly any news to speak of, go ahead take a look I can wait...There were like maybe 10 articles since I last did the news and some of it I wasn't going to bother with because it wasn't news. So anways moving forward I review 47 Ronin, I was actually surprised by this one. After that is the Box Office Report and the news. And lastly the Closing Comments where I mention when the next minisode will hopefully be recorded. Enjoy the show!
