Episode 144: The Adventures of Tintin

There honestly was no way that I could combine the movies I'm reviewing into one title. I love to shoehorn titles together but yeah it wouldn't have worked this round. Well for anyone who is listening to this episode it contains the shortest news segment in the history of the show. And I got lazy with the Trailer Spot this week considering the seven I did last week...so yeah...no Trailer Spot this week. And as always there's the Box Office Report. And lastly the reviews this week are The Adventures of Tintin and Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol. Enjoy the show!

Episode 143: Trailers Galore!

Unlike previous episodes before it this episode's main attraction is the large amount of trailers that came out just in the last week. Since there were so many trailers I didn't have as much to say about the news. I'll let all of you listen to the episode to find out what trailers I'm covering this episode. (Hint: The Dark Knight Rises is one of them) After that it's the Box Office Report, and to finish things off the reviews this week are Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Schindler's List. Enjoy the show!

Episode 142: Not the Episode You Needed...

But the one you deserved, yes my episodes and the reviews that have come alongside it have been sporadic at best. However look at the past couple weekends and call me out. After Thanksgiving there were no new releases, and the week after that we got New Year's Eve. I'm sorry if you wanted me to watch it but I don't want to subject myself to that movie willingly, even if it's for your amusement. Well for this episode it's a bit news oriented since if you remember from the past episode my computer was acting up and wouldn't allow me to do any of the news. As for the Trailer Spot this week it's Men in Black 3. Instead of covering just last weekends Box Office I also cover the weekend before. And for my review this week it's Hanna. And my Speed Review this week is Robocop. I know it's a random assortment of stuff but I wanted to get something out before next week. Enjoy the show!

Minisode 24: Darker than Black- It's a Fairy Tail

So it's a little late yeah I know and things keep on changing originally I was going to review Darker than Black with Breaking Dawn. So I quickly review the first season of Darker than Black. And then I review Darker than Black: Gemini of the Meteor which personally I think is an improvement over the first series. After that is Fairy Tail, long story short it's a magical shonen series. It does have remnants of series that are out right now or have come before it, for instance, Dragonball. Enjoy the show!

Episode 141: The Muppets meets Breaking Dawn

It's a super lame title, but I wanted people out there that want to listen about either movie to know what's going on instead of just giving the distinction to one movie or the other. As I explain in the episode my browser was acting really werid at the time so I couldn't do the news proper and having just finshed the segment without knowing it wasn't recording I came so close to scrapping the entire episode. So as a result I only cover two bits of news covering The Dark Knight Rises, the first bit was before everything went to shit and then everything else is after. So the Trailer Spot goes back to times of like 2 or 3 years ago when we just summarized it, and I chose Brave. It's the newest movie from Pixar, and I really haven't seen anything on it lately. After that is the Box Office Report. And for reviews this week I start off with Breaking Dawn, and finish things off with The Muppets. Enjoy the show!

Episode 140: Immortals

Will Immortals stand the test of time, or be lost to films like Troy, Gladiator, and 300? Well I would say amongst the list it's on the bottom, but I'll let you guys decide the fate of that movie. So there's bits of news that I litter throughout the first half of the show, then following that is the Trailer Spot which is now featuring The Hunger Games. Once I make it out of that section it's onto the Box Office Report. And finally the review this week is Immortals. Enjoy the show!

Episode 139: A Very Harold & Kumar Tower Heist

So many questions that need to be answered: Will Harold and Kumar find love? Will the tower heist be tower...heisted? These questions and many more will probably not be answered during this episode, but who knows maybe it will. Well anyways I bring you the news, the Trailer Spot this week is Safe House. Personally I thought this was the sequel to Panic Room, thankfully I was wrong and it actually stars Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. In between that and the review is the Box Office Report. And lastly for reviews this week I start things off with A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas followed by Tower Heist. Enjoy the show!

Episode 138: Boogie Nights

I'm getting surprisingly lazy with watching movies, I have a good guess besides being overworked but I shall not get into that right now. So there's a little bit of news to be had, nothing really major besides the new title for Bond 23. As for the Trailer Spot I decided to chase after Project X, honestly I thought it had something to do with Wolverine. Not surprising was that I was wrong and in fact it's Cloverfield but instead of a giant monster it's about a giant 17th birthday party. In between that and my review is the Box Office Report, which won't shock anyone. And my review this week is Boogie Nights. I'd like to get into detail with what it's about but I'd rather you just listen to what I have to say. Also I have three little bits that make up my Closing Comments this week so please stay tuned for that. And also enjoy the show!

Episode 137: Give No Quarter

So I didn't realize that I was practically mumbling for the first couple minutes of the episode, so my apologies. And also sorry for yawning throughout my review of The Three Musketeers, I had just woken up and wanted to get this done before work. While this episode is everything you have come to expect the title makes no sense and neither does the song so don't try to draw anything extra out of it. So there's news (somehow I kept that relatively short considering), then there's the Trailer Spot which is In the Land of Blood and Honey...it's directed by Angelina Jolie so that's why I was interested in what it's aboot. After that is the Box Office Report. And then to finish things of are my reviews of The Three Musketeers (2011 version) and The Illusionist (2006 version). And finally please enjoy the show!

Episode 136: Real Steel

Better late than never right? I know this is late even for me, I apologize for that but oh well it's here now. Well I talk about the news, the Trailer Spot this week is The Avengers, if you like any of the superheroes that are featured in this movie you will have to check this one out. Then as always in the Box Office Report. And for reviews this week is 50/50, Real Steel, and Limitless. And yeah if anyone has noticed last week I had an Eminem song on and this week is the same, completely unintentional.

Episode 135: Moneyball

Hey everyone, I'll be short since my spacebar is screwed up. There's plenty of news to be had, although most of it wasn't too exciting. The Trailer Spot this week is Happy Feet Two. Then following up is the Box Office Report. And for reviews this week it's Moneyball, Abduction, and The Warrior's Way. And don't forget the closing comments. Enjoy the show!

Episode 134: Drive

Have you ever wanted to be a stunt driver? Yeah, me neither. However if I were as cool as Ryan Gosling was in that movie I might reconsider. So somehow I ended up talking about the news for like 13 minutes, still not sure how. For the Trailer Spot it's What's Your Number? seriously this movie has generic written all over it, or rather the trailer implies that it's going to be a generic romantic comedy. I talk about the Box Office Report and then for reviews this week it's Drive and Spirited Away. I know it's a really odd combination but it worked out better than I could've imagined. So yeah enjoy the show!

Minisode 23: You Can (Not) Advance Baka, Unless You Can Summon the Beasts to Pass the Test

Yes I do think this is the longest title I have ever thought up, so for this minisode I'm bringing you two anime titles that are fairly recent. The first is Evangelion 2.22: You Can (Not) Advance. If you ever loved Eva at one point in your life please for the love of God watch this as soon as possible. While this is still a re-imagining of the middle of the series it's going to be hard to make the comparison until after watching or after another viewing. And even if you don't like the story of Evangelion, watch it for the animation. You'll be hard pressed to find better as of this posting. And then there's the second series, Baka and Test: Summon the Beasts. Well it starts out with an interesting premise and then kinda throws it away after a little while, so right now it's kind of in the slice of life category. However it's incredibly funny, and is slightly meta when I think about it. So yeah those are the two titles I'll be reviewing this week enjoy the show!

Episode 133: Trust Me, Contagion Only Lasts 127 Hours

Personally I think this was one of the better episodes I've recorded by myself. It went by quickly, maybe it's because I had two movies that were kinda hard to describe. So there was a little news to be had, and I think besides the reviews the biggest thing this week was the Trailer Spot with Abduction starring Taylor Lautner and then Breaking Dawn Part 1, yes I done did the trailer. Also don't forget the Box Office Report. And for reviews this week I cover Contagion and 127 Hours. Before I leave things to you people for my closing comments I briefly give you an overview of what to expect for next week. Enjoy the show!

Episode 132: Obscure and Pointless

When it came down to doing this episode I wasn't quite sure what I could do since I hadn't watched anything that came out this week in theaters and based on how the box office numbers came in I'd say most people didn't bother either. So on Sunday my brother and I went to buy a movie on DVD and that's where my review comes from. So there's a little bit of news, although in retrospect it was rather boring. The Trailer Spot this week is Bunraku, it has Woody Harrelson, Josh Hartnett, and Gackt in it so it definitely made me raise an eyebrow. There's the Box Office Report. And finally the review, which I made a point to not reveal until the whole review was over. Also don't forget the Closing Comments so please enjoy the show!

Minisode 22: Highschool of the Dead- The Return of Spice & Wolf

Zombies! And boobs! Put both together and you get a show like H.O.T.D. which is pretty much what the show is about. While the story is about teenagers and their survival during the zombie apocalypse, boobs jiggle and zombies get killed. I hope that people watch this show, assuming they are old enough, but this show is definitely a highlight in a relatively weak year for anime. Following my review of Highschool of the Dead is Spice and Wolf II, if you haven't listened to my review of the first season I would like to direct you to Minisode 10. I don't have to get into much detail about the new season of Spice and Wolf, other than it's filled with business and it's filled with a man falling for a wolf deity. I heavily recommend both seasons to anyone who is interested. Well I hope you enjoy the show!

Please don't question my music choice, I don't even remember if I've used it before but yes this song was on The Change-Up soundtrack. And at least I could use this without having to download something new. It's a quick show this week as I cover the news, the Trailer Spot this week is Underworld: Awakening, and then there's the Box Office Report. The reviews this week are The Change-Up and Our Idiot Brother. Then for my closing comments I talk about the overuse of set photos and videos. Enjoy the show!

Episode 130: Fright Night

I had two songs that I wanted to use for this episode but Audition is being crap right now so I'm going to shamelessly plug them. 99 Problems by Hugo & Bad Girlfriend by Theory of a Deadman. Now that I gots that out of the way this is a quick episode as I cover the news, the Trailer Spot is Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengence, and I go over the Box Office Report. The review this week is Fright Night, I know I didn't mention the 3D in the review because it really didn't add anything to the overall experience and we were sitting in a bad 3D theater anyways. So that's the episode so enjoy the show!

Has anyone ever had to deal with crickets in their movie going experience? Well I did when I went to a movie last night, it was quite annoying if you ask me. So after the two week hiatus I'm back to bring you the news, there's a little bit but not much to clamor after. The Trailer Spot this week is A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas, it has NPH so go watch it already. For the Box Office Report I cover the past two weekends. And for reviews I start things off with Rise of the Planet of the Apes. This is actually a pretty good film, it has chimps in it. Following that is 30 Minutes or Less, you know I feel kinda bad for the people who downloaded the episode with the title of the same name and it has nothing to do with it. And my final (ha) review this week is Final Destination 5, I had no intentions of watching this movie but here I am talking about it. People must love to see exaggerated deaths, because seriously how sharp is some of this stuff. Having watched that film I would say one maybe two of those deaths were possible to happen. In all honesty I did catch myself laughing a couple times when someone died in that movie. How pissed is Death that he has nothing better to do than chase after people who survived a freak accident? He could waste his time doing something else. Well enjoy the show!

Kenichi proves just how lazy I am, however I believe that some of that fighting in the show is borderline impossible. But who am I to judge since all I do is sit there and watch it. So for this minisode I review Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, think The Karate Kid and you're on the right tracks. After that I talk about Sengoku Basara, which is an embelished version of the Sengoku Period however it's still a good show. Then I follow things up with First Impressions of Dragonaut: The Resonance, Excel Saga, and Air Gear. Last but not least is my video game review of Catherine. Enjoy the show!

We discuss some news, no Trailer Spot this week, and there's the Box Office Report. For reviews it's Crazy, Stupid, Love and Cowboys & Aliens. It's a more than likely misinterpreted quote from Friends with Benefits. I liked that line more than my usual ideas for episode titles. And by the way sorry for screwing up the episode number again I need Chris just so I don't screw those up apparently. Well despite Comic-Con being this week it was crap-tacular in terms of news. I mean this might be, by and far, the worst week of news I've ever read. (In terms of entertainment industry news.) So after that quick debacle I wander into the Trailer Spot with The Amazing Spider-Man. Then the Box Office Report follows suit. And then I review Captain America and Friends with Benefits. Some may be wondering about my song of choice for this week, I can explain quite quickly. I don't have the new soundtrack for HP8 and I didn't want to try and download anything today, so I grabbed something I already had and the title of the song worked, kinda, with this new release. So Chris was a bum and didn't respond to my text so here I am recording by myself for your amusement. There was a little bit of news to be had, but trust me next week should be filled with all sorts of new info on movies like The Avengers or Breaking Dawn. The Trailer Spot this week is The Dark Knight Rises, and this one is for real this time. I discuss the amazing week Harry Potter had at the Box Office. And then I also review Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2. And finally there's the Closing Comments. Enjoy the show!

You might be wondering if I've ever had a bad boss, well I ain't telling no one. Which if you read that properly means I would but I'm not going too. So it's just me again this week as I gather up some news. The Trailer Spot this week is Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. And then I bring you the Box Office Report. For the review this week is Horrible Bosses. And I finish things off in the Closing Comments as I talk about the current story arc in Bleach. Enjoy the show!

The Trailer Spot for the week is Moneyball starring Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill, check that trailer out btw. Then I discuss the Box Office Report, which by now is already out of date. To say what I did for this was an undertaking is fairly accurate. You can look at title and think I am doing just two maybe three things this round. Well you would be very very wrong my friend(s). While I do review Chrome Shelled Regios, interesting title I know, and Eden of the East plus the Eden of the East movie: The King of Eden; I'm also reviewing 6 other shows. Some may look twice at that number and wonder what I was thinking and then also wonder if the show is a little over 40 minutes how is he reviewing 9 shows? Well while I do fully review the first 3 anime I announced above the remaining 6 shows are covered respectively in about 12 minutes. So for my First Impressions, as I like to call it, I'm going over Girls Bravo, Gun Sword, Birdy the Mighty: Decode, Dragonaut: The Resonance, Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, and also Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne. I really think I covered a good range of shows this week and hopefully you enjoy the show!

After a week long hiatus we're back and bringing with us...well pretty much nothing. So Chris and I discuss all sorts of news ranging from Transformers to The Dark Knight Rises. We do have a Trailer Spot this week however I'm not going to type down the name because we aren't quite sure if it's an official trailer or not. We then wander into the Box Office Report where we go even further into how movies make their money, and for the folks at home we didn't intend to go into that stuff on purpose. And for reviews Chris reviews Green Lantern while I give my score as well. And then I bring back the Speed Review with a movie that came from 1994. All I have to say is this high school kinda sorta sucked. Haha I know this has really nothing to do with anything I just wanted to fill in some space. So we got the news, the Trailer Spot this week is Breaking Dawn Pt. 1, Chris does the Box Office Report and then we follow up with our review for X-Men: First Class. No Trailer Spot this week sorry about that. Then Chris does the Box Office Report. And I follow up with my review of Kung Fu Panda 2. This is the swan song for Allison as it is her last recording with us for a while. She'll be back, hopefully, for con reports when I go to them. So for this minisode we go to Japan and pretty much stay there because that is where both anime take place. Who would've thunk it? So Allison leads things off with her thoughts on Durarara!! and I give my thoughts as well. Once we get done discussing our love for the show we wander into a "classic" anime with WeiB Kreuz, needless to say if you haven't heard of it you should very well make it your mission to listen to what we have to think about this show. "To defy the Church, is to defy God." Ok sounds preachy doesn't it, well imagine hearing that line at least 10 times in the first 20 minutes of a movie. So yeah that got really annoying really quick. Because honestly as an audience member I think I could remember that line and still claim to not care when it comes to that movie. Anyways I give you guys a pretty quick episode since the internet was failing to work last night, so there is a brief bout with the news, also there is a Box Office Report hidden in there. Does anyone else think that this is far from a descriptive title for a movie, seriously I hated the Fast & Furious title but Fast Five is worse. I wish we would’ve gotten the international title, Fast & Furious 5: Rio Heist. That explains what the movie is about in one swift kick. Well anyways we discuss the news, our Trailer Spot this week is the newest trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. After finding out that I apparently made a version of the audio that was over 1 GB of space I finally got this thing up and running. So Allison and myself discuss what happened to us during our stay at Anime Detour 2011. Some notable things is the correlation between anime and Doctor Who. Also I fangirl over J. Michael Tatum so those are just a couple examples of what you can look forward too. Enjoy the show!

Before anyone questions my opening and closing song, it's the best song I could come up with for the premise of Source Code where the main character constantly goes through the last 8 minutes of another dudes life. So we bring you the news, and our favorite April Fools joke this year. After that Chris does the Box Office Report as well as his review of Source Code. And for the closing comments I get a little political. Enjoy the show!

If I can find one more thing to watch expect another Minisode sometime next week. But let's focus on this particular episode where I start things off with Origin: Spirits of the Past. It's sort of hard to explain this but needless to say it's pretty for being an anime movie that I think came out in 2006. Then I follow that up with the 7th Season of House, some may have given up by now but I say nay! So it's a quick like episode so enjoy!

Apparently I do a terrible impression of Valley Girls so yeah if I offend anyone that was not the intent, but I have to say that made for a quality opening. So we cover the couple weeks of news. The Trailer Spot covers Captain America with Chris Evans, amazing trailer people need to give this a shot. Chris covers the Box Office Report. And for reviews I cover Sucker Punch and do a 2 minute review of The Adjustment Bureau, I end up spoiling the latter so skip ahead to 46:30 for the score and then our closing comments. Enjoy the show!

What's that? Is that the squeal of the fans of this show that we finally came out with a new minisode? No? Oh maybe that's my neighbors. Yes people it's been far too long since the last installment but it's here for your entertainment as I review Summer Wars and Archer. And btw I'm sorry during the show that I didn't say that Archer is an animated show. Nonetheless I hope you enjoy the show!

I think this episode fills our quota for swearing for the week, just fair warning we swear plenty this time around. Well we discuss some news, I mostly discuss posters. For the Trailer Spot we cover Bad Teacher starring Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake. Chris takes over with the Box Office Report. And for reviews Chris leads off with Battle: Los Angeles and I then review Rango. Also don't miss out on our closing comments in which we cover the failing NFL talks and also the MPAA. Don't miss this one and enjoy the show!

I have just learned today that even if I can't see while driving I still drive awesome. So Chris and I return to bring you the news, a Trailer Spot, the Box Office Report and lastly our review of Take Me Home Tonight. A major part of this episode is us getting sidetracked by many many things so enjoy the show! Oh and P.S. I introduce another new segment to the show.

Welcome once again to our arena, if you want a hall pass you need to survive the entire course of the episode...yeah I don't know what I'm typing anyways we discuss a ton of news most of it not being relevant. So then after talking about the Oscars Chris talks about the weak sauce box office weekend and then he also reviews Hall Pass. And to follow up I reveal a new segment that I hope you guys enjoy, so ya enjoy the show!

This is the story of a boy, who lost his family at a very young age, has supernatural powers and has no one to believe in but himself. And I unintentionally just gave a summary to I Am Number Four, whoops. Anyways Chris and I discuss the news and the Box Office Report. For reviews I start things off with Unknown starring Liam Neeson. And Chris follows up with I Am Number Four, I also give my score for that as well. This is a quick episode people so enjoy!

Chris found a correlation between Nazi's and 3D movies, well a website found it out and then he did but in either case we stand or sit here now saying that if you support 3D movies you support Hitler! And I jest well we have a packed show for you guys and gals out there as we discuss what I mentioned above as well as the rest of the news. Our Trailer Spot for the week is X-Men: First Class. Chris does not only the Box Office Report but also reviews Gnomeo & Juliet and The Eagle. I finish off with a DVD review of The Count of Monte Cristo. Enjoy the show!

The title sounds sorta bleak doesn't it? I don't want to say it is ironic because it actually sort of worked with the movie I reviewed this week. So this week is a tight and quick episode as I'm by myself because of a miscommunication between Chris and myself. So I give you the news, also I have a Trailer Spot featuring Even the Rain, I still don't know what it's really about. There is also the Box Office Report. And for the review this week I bring you The King's Speech. Enjoy the show!

Have you ever wanted to become a priest? Yes? Have you ever wanted to be a priest who can perform exorcisms? No? Well too damn bad, you are going to and you are going to like it! It's Chris and myself for this round as we have a couple Oscar discussions, we also talk about Superman, and there's other random crap there too. Chris does the Box Office Report and for reviews Chris takes charge with The Mechanic and The Rite. And I review a piece of crap called Cool Dog. Enjoy the show!

There is no use complaining about something you can't change, yes I'm talking about something I typed that was kinda witty but also kinda stupid. So we got the news, no Trailer Spot. Chris does the Box Office Report. And for reviews I lead things off with my review of  The Girl Who Played with Fire, I didn't remember a whole lot so the review is pretty disjointed. And Chris follows up with No Strings Attached. Enjoy the show!

The long awaited minisode has finally arrived, filled that chocolately filled goodness we know to be called anime. So I lead things off with Baccano! which is a delightful series that is incredibly violent but also quite funny. Allison follows up with Revolutionary Girl Utena and also gives her score for the movie as well. And I finish things off with a new title that just finished up its first season, it's called The World God Only Knows. Enjoy the show!

From time to time we try and come up with titles that are witty, and other times they explain what we are reviewing for the week, this week is probably neither of those but you'll just have to learn to deal. So Chris and I cover the news, what little of it we could find. And sorry no Trailer Spot this week, Chris does the Box Office Report. And for reviews I lead off with the Black Swan, Chris takes over for The Dilemma and I give my score as well, and to finish things off I review The Green Hornet. Enjoy the show!

Ever imagined Chris naked, well you'll still just have to imagine because Chris was fully clothed for this round, as for me well let your mind wander haha. Anyways the title has nothing to do with this episode in the slightest as we talk the news. Our Trailer Spot this week is Your Highness starring James Franco and Natalie Portman. Chris takes charge with the Box Office Report for this week. And our reviews this week is Season of the Witch and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Hope you enjoy the show!

Sorry this is considerably late but here it is! It's the same awards that we "handed out" last year, with a minor change to one category. So hopefully you look forward to that along with the Top 5 Movies we are looking forward to in 2011. Enjoy the show!
